Crews have been working on the facility for the better part of four months now, as a new lobby will be unveiled sometime in October. According to Facilities Manager Greg Button, the project is on schedule and should be ready for the Weyburn Red Wings SJHL home opener on October 8th.
Right now, work on the roof is underway and Button says once that is complete, the bulk of the project should fall into place. "We've got to get the roof on and then the interior walls need to be put in. Of course, the floor will have to be finished. There's the ceiling, the plumbing, the heating and air conditioning will have to be put in. We are still doing good with time lines but once that roof goes on, things will progress quickly after that."
As for the Sports Arena renovations, Button says they are a little bit behind schedule, but if the weather cooperates, the crews working could gain some of that time back.
