This morning, we are chatting about the same thing everyone else is going to be talking about....how about that WIND?

According to Environment Canada's website, wind gusts maxed out at 71 km/h yesterday, peaking at about 9:00. Between about 5 p.m. and 11 p.m., wind gusts were steady in the 60-70 km/h range.

Won't lie, they seemed A LOT stronger than that!

When the wind warning came down our minds OF COURSE went to the big wind storm we had in January (which, I might add, we just finished cleaning up from). In January, trees were ripped down, taking power lines with them, signs ended up all over the City and I hear some people still haven't found their garbage bins.

But, after driving into work this morning, this storm didn't seem to cause quite the same amount of damage, thank goodness!

This morning, we are still seeing some wind and snow. That has created rapidly changing highway conditions. Over the past half hour alone, all highways in the Weyburn area have changed their status. You can keep up with that here.

We also have already heard some great stories of the small but awesome deeds residents have done, especially the refuse crews who were taking the bins back into people's yards after they had been emptied so they wouldn't blow away (a quick note on that, those who regularly get their garbage picked up on Tuesday will NOT have that today. Put your bins out tomorrow!)

Let us know what you are seeing! Is there damage we missed? Have a good deed story to share? Maybe just a great picture or video from the storm? Let us know! Send a picture or video of the storm or damage to us on our Facebook page!

Stay safe out there!
