The biggest Saskatchewan fundraiser of the year is right around the corner and, this year, Telemiracle has LOADS of Southeast connections.

Susan Colbow, this year's Program Chair, is originally from Estevan and has been working for over a year with several people from around the provinc, including Brittany Huber and Jake Porter of Weyburn, to help pull off Telemiracle 42.

"This year we have a countdown to Telemiracle and that is an online only show," said Colbow. "We had such a great turnout of talent in November when we had audtions and they wanted to get more people in so what they've done is created a pre-show that will be in the lobby of the Conexus Arts Centre. You can only get it streaming at telemiracle.com and it will feature 11 acts from Saskatchewan."

The countdown to Telemiracle is expected to start at 6:30 and run until 8:55, just before the show starts at 9:00 on March 3.

Susan also noted that Nutrien (formerly PotashCorp and Agrium) will be matching donations made by Saskatchewan talent, up to $150,000.

And the area clearly has a lot of talent!

Brad Johner and the Johner Boys and Chris Henderson, both from the area, will be re-joining the national cast and will help introduce more local talent including Ashton Rousseau from Coronach and Maraya Parisien, Spirit of Grace and Richy Roy, all from Weyburn.

And of course the Weyburn Kinsmen and Kinettes are doing as much fundraising as they can ahead of the event! In the fall they held a poker night and a paint night and they are following that up on February 10th with ANOTHER poker night!

"The registration will start at 6:30 and we'll start the game at 7," said Vice President of the Weyburn Kinsmen Adrian Prybylski. "It's going to take place this year, like it did last year at the Wor-Kin shop at 1800 Ebel Road. There will be a $100 buy in with a $100 rebuy in the first hour."

You can find more on this event here.

As always, Telemiracle will be free to attend. The 30 hour telethon runs March 3 and 4th at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina.
