Relief is on the way across Western Canada as trucks are now leaving the refinery in Regina. Many stations across Western Canada were feeling the bite of gas shortages due to barricades put in place by Unifor.

These barricades were set up as part of a labour dispute with the refinery. However, they were taken down this morning under the supervision of the Regina Police Service.

Cameron Zimmer with Federated Co-op confirmed that trucks are now leaving the refinery and their goal is to resupply as many stations as possible. However, this will not be an overnight relief.

The priority at this time is smaller communities with no other alternatives for fuel aside from co-op facilities.
