Even though it's still a few months away, we couldn't help but get excited over Canadian Pacific Holiday Train's announcement this week!

"We're coming to Weyburn on December 16th," said Salem Woodrow with Canadian Pacific.  "We'll arrive around 5:45 or so, with the show from 6 until 6:30 pm. Performing at the show will be Meghan Patrick, Tanika Charles and Holiday Train favourite Kelly Prescott."

Definitely marking this one in the calendars! Every year, the Holiday Train rolls into town with fourteen decorated train cars. There is lights and music and, of course, a free concert.

"We bring a free concert in hopes of raising money and food for food banks because the holiday season is really a crucial time of year and we have found that in some communities the holiday train is the main fundraiser for the next twelve months," said Salem. "We're very proud of this important community initiative and the role it plays in supporting local food banks and the battle against hunger."

Here in the Opportunity City, the funds raised go directly to the Salvation Army. They come out with their truck and generally hand out hot chocolate and goodies to those who come to enjoy the show.

It's always an amazing time and we can't wait to see you there!
