The Weyburn and District United Way is just a few weeks away from holding their 36th Annual Communithon, which benefits 14 member agencies.

Leading up to the big day, we'll be highlighting those agencies. Today, we look at Sun Country Kids Club.

"Sun Country Kids Club is a before and after school program for Grades 1 through 6," said Executive Director Kenda Lohse. "Our programs are held at Haig, Souris, Queen Elizabeth, St Mike's and Assiniboia Park kids can attend the program at Haig."

Parents can drop their children off at their schools starting as early as 7:30 and then pick up at 5:30.

"We are a non-profit so we rely on fundraising to keep our program costs low," said Lohse.

Their goal in the city to to provide affordable child care for school aged students.

"The United Way is very important to us," she added. "Like I said, we rely on fundraising to keep our program going. So with being a member agency, we're hoping to see some funds that will help us keep the program going. All the proceeds will be going right back to us for the program."

The United Way Communithon goes October 20th with the concert jam on October 21st.
