Weyburn Red Wings netminder Jack Burgart has been named as the SJHL SaskTel Goalie of the Week. He is enjoying a banner season, and his performance so far this year has many considering him a frontrunner for league MVP.
In two games in the past week, Burgart has allowed two goals. He stopped 20 of 21 shots in a 4-1 win against Yorkton Monday, then followed it up by stopping 35 of 36 against the Melville Millionaires in a 2-1 shootout victory.
So far this season, Burgart has posted a record of 16-12-2, with a league leading four shutouts. His GAA of 2.30 is fourth best in the SJHL, and his .931 save percentage is the second best in the league.
