Extra Caution Needed on Sidewalks and Roads

Abnormally mild temperatures have wreaked havoc on Weyburn's sidewalks and roads.

With abnormally mild temperatures, and a taste of winter on it's way, extra caution will be needed on Weyburn and area sidewalks and roads.

After Weyburn received a heavy dump of snow temperatures have been steadily rising, with plus temperatures for the last week. This has created a melt-freeze trend throughout the city, with snow melting into puddles on sidewalks and roads during the day, and freezing into unmanageable ice once the mercury dips below zero.

Although the southeast is expecting a shock of winter in the coming days, dipping below minus 20 this weekend, it is not expected to last and temperatures will be just below freezing for the start of February.
