During the Culture Days festivities held in late September, members of the community took part in a Collaborative Mural project, and now, the 50-piece mural is now ready to be installed for its big reveal.

"We thought since our community made this, why don't we take joy in putting it together?" said Weyburn Arts Council president Jessica Payette. "Another step to try of have some more involvement, instead of this being behind the scenes work."

She said the installation and reveal will be done throughout a reception on Wednesday, October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Caragana Room. Everyone is welcome to attend and take part in the evening's free event.

"There will be refreshments, and people are invited to come," said Payette. "We're going to throughout the evening, draw numbers and your number will correspond with one of the pieces, and we will slowly hang this mural as a community and watch that photograph come to life in this mural that was made."

The mural was based on this photograph by Chris Borschowa.

Funding for this project was provided by Culture Days Saskatchewan, SaskCulture, Saskatchewan Arts Board and the City of Weyburn.
