It was a busy weekend for Weyburn baseball teams. Nearly every age group had a team on the diamond, at home, and on the road.

Mosquito

The Element AA Beavers played four games on the weekend. They started out with a doubleheader at home Saturday against Lumsden. The Beavers took the first game at Jubilee Park by a final of 11-8. In the second game, they kept the margin of victory, winning 14-11.

Sunday, the AA Beavers were off to Pilot Butte for a matchup against the White Butte Broncos. The Beavers made it three wins in a row, with an 11-0 victory. The Broncos would rally back in the second game though, picking up a 9-7 win.

The AA Beavers will be back in action on Tuesday. They travel up to Regina to face the Buffalos.

Pee Wee

The Century 21 Hometown AA Beavers were on the diamond against the Swift Current 57’s this weekend. In the first game of the doubleheader, the Beavers came out with a 15-13 win. The defense took over in the second game, and the 57’s held on for a 7-4 victory. The AA Beavers host Estevan Tuesday for their next game.

Bantam

The AA Beavers were on the diamonds at Jubilee Park for a doubleheader Saturday. The Regina Pacers were in town for the two games. The Beavers took the first game 16-11. They kept up the offense in the second game as well, winning 14-15.

The AA Beavers will be back in action Tuesday night as well. Alameda will be coming to Jubilee Park.

A big home win for the Bantam A Beavers. They took on the Regina Buffaloes at Jubilee Park Sunday. The Beavers came away with the 21-9 victory. Bryce Skogberg, Carson Field, and Dylan Birnie combined for the win.

The A Beavers will be back in action Monday when they host Lumsden

Midget

The Southeast AAA Twins with a tough afternoon Saturday, as the Saskatoon Giants were in town for a pair of games. The Giants jumped out to a lead in the third innings, scoring five runs, and would add singles in the fourth and fifth, and two more in the 7th. The Twins rallied in the sixth inning, scoring four runs, and added another in the 7th, but the rally ended, and they fell 9-5.

In the second game, the Giants built up a 5-0 lead by the 4th inning, but the Twins responded with five runs of their own in the bottom of the inning, tying the game up. Saskatoon would add more to their total, though, scoring nine runs over the final four innings. The Twins worked to try to pull close but were unable to get more than a single in the sixth. The Giants picked up a 14-6 win.
