The Weyburn Police Service is investigating a complaint of a stolen vehicle. A black Toyota Tacoma with Saskatchewan plate 053 KVD was stolen between April 1st and 5th from a business in the west industrial area of Weyburn.

Anyone with any information about this theft is asked to contact the Weyburn police or to call Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

April 1st

- The Weyburn PS assisted a parent in the apprehension and transportation of a youth under the provisions of the Youth Detoxification Act.

- The Weyburn PS received a call requesting a well-being check on a person who was threatening self-harm. The person was located and had already gone to the hospital.

- The Weyburn PS received a complaint of a theft from a downtown business. Surveillance footage was viewed and the suspects identified. A charge of Theft Under $5000 has been laid and the person will be making a Court appearance.

April 5th

- The Weyburn PS received a complaint regarding a domestic assault. The matter is still under investigation.

- The Weyburn PS received a report of a credit card fraud involving an on-line purchase. The matter is still under investigation.

 - The Weyburn PS received a report of a possible Identity Theft. The matter is still under investigation.

 - The Weyburn PS is investigating a complaint of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was stolen between April 1st and April 5th from a business in the west industrial area. The vehicle is a Black Toyota Tacoma with Sask Plate 053 KVD. Anyone having any information about this theft is asked to contact the Weyburn Police or to call Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

 

April 6th

 - The Weyburn PS conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. As a result of the stop marihuana was noted in the vehicle. A Ticket under Provincial legislation was issued for Minor Possessing Cannabis.

 - The Weyburn PS conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle. As a result of the stop the driver was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. Subsequent breath tests showed the driver to be nearly twice the legal limit. He was charged accordingly for driver over .08, his licence was suspended indefinitely and the vehicle was impounded. He will be making a Court appearance in the future.

 This past week has seen an increase in the number of complaints of vehicles passing School buses with the Stop arm and lights activated. Please be reminded that if the lights and STOP arm are activated you can not pass by the school bus from either direction. Tickets are expensive and result in the loss of points on your good driver rewards.
