The deadline to remove a dog deemed dangerous by the Town of Yellow Grass has come and gone, however, the family continues to fight to keep their dog after it bit a 13-year-old boy.

Brandy Gosse said the boy was known to her but entered her yard without permission. She said her dog barked and growled but the child approached anyways.

Social media posts by the boy's father Mickey Quigley stated the boy was simply trying to be helpful by returning Gosse's other dog, which had gotten loose. Photos on his Facebook page show the bites left large bruises and torn flesh on his son.

Gosse said she's taking measures to meet the town's dangerous dog bylaw. She set up an enclosure and had the dog fitted with a muzzle.

Town officials contacted Gosse Saturday to request a meeting on Tuesday about the dog's future.
