The Weyburn Arts Council is calling all makers who may be looking for a chance to get their creations into homes just in time for the season of giving. It's time for artists to register for the Gifted Winter Art Market.

It'll be happening on November 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Weyburn Credit Union Spark Centre, which is a new location for the event, previously held at the Cugnet Centre, and at the former location of its origin - the Signal Hill Arts Centre, when it was known as 'Four Festive Floors'.

The event has grown to become a highlight for Weyburnites, with something for everyone, and a variety of options for items perfect to buy as gifts. In fact, last year the event saw 600 attendees perusing more than 35 vendors' goods.

Regan Lanning, Arts Coordinator with WAC, and the Curator for the City of Weyburn, said the purpose of the sale is to showcase locally handmade wares by creatives in the area.

"We do not take any trades or MLMs," she noted. "It has to be 100 percent handmade."

"The deadline to register as a vendor for the Gifted Market is September 30th, 2023. Find the form HERE or email rlanning@weyburn.ca.

"$50 is our registration fee," she added. "We like to keep our costs low because we recognize that not everybody can afford a $200 fee. So if the $50 is beyond you, if you read our registration form, there are avenues of involvement still available."

Local non-profit organizations also can attend the event at no charge. In fact, last year, the Weyburn Humane Society raffled off a liquor basket and sold baked goods, and has regularly held barbeques during the Gifted summer sale.
