The Weyburn Red Wings adding to their roster Monday, as the team announced a pair of signings.

The first was goaltender Cody Levesque. The 2000-born from Carnduff spent last season with the Midget AAA Swift Current Legionnaires.

Levesque was a third-round pick of the Red Wings in the 2015 Bantam draft and has seen some action with the team as an AP. In the 2016-17 playoffs, he was called up for the series against the Battlefords North Stars and started one game.

This past season, Levesque, who stands 6’5” and weighs 205 pounds, played in 24 games, and posted a goals-against-average of 2.51, with a save percentage of .920.

The other signing announced yesterday coming from Manitoba. The Red Wings have picked up defenseman Cole DeKoninck, who hails from Lorette, Manitoba.

The 18-year-old was a dynamo from the blue line, with 58 points in 48 games, including 20 goals. In all, he averaged over a point a game through his midget career with the Eastman Selects of the Manitoba Midget AAA league. He is also a former teammate for Red Wings forward Will Cruise.
