In 2007 a movement started that shows no signs of slowing down. February 22 is the Red Cross Day of Pink

Travis Price and his friend David Shephard took a stand against bullying in their school. A boy was being made fun of because he wore a pink shirt to school. Soon, the Pink Shirt became a national symbol against bullying, as you can see from the video below (courtesy of Red Cross).

The Canadian Red Cross quickly got on board with the Pink Shirt movement, with Saskatchewan Red Cross joining in 2011. Today, it's a day to celebrate respect and take a stand against bullying, as Stewart Kerr of the Red Cross explains.

There's no word as of yet if there will be a Pink Parade, as we have seen in previous years.

However, Stewart encouraged residents to get their pink shirts to help spread awareness on the issue of bullying. They are $20 for a T-Shirt, $30 for a Polo Shirt, and can be ordered on the Red Cross website. The sooner the better as they have been known to sell out!

Can't wait to see the city painted in pink!
