The RCMP are asking for the public’s help in the investigation of six bank robberies, and two attempted robberies, at financial institutions across southern Saskatchewan.

The first robbery was in Pangman, on May 13th of last year. On June 24th, 2016, a bank in Hodgeville was robber. After a six-month pause, the robberies began again this year. the bank in Pangman was robbed again on January 4th, followed by an attempt on the bank in Pangman on February 6th. The bank in Holdfast was robbed on March 10th, then a bank in Glentworth on May 17th. A second attempt was made on the bank in Glentworth on June 5th, and then the bank in Central Butte was robbed on June 13th.

The RCMP would not confirm in each instance if the suspect was armed at the time of the robbery. They did say there were no injuries in any of the robberies, and there are similarities in each incident.

The suspect is consistently described as a man between 40 and 50 years old, with a heavy or stocky build, and between 5’5” and 5’8” tall. The suspect has worn dark balaclavas or toques, gloves, a grey-hooded sweater, a tan coat, an orange hoodie with an Under Armour logo on the front, and a camouflage or dark coat.

Potential vehicles driven by the suspect include a grey van, a red SUV, and an older model dark colored Chevrolet extended cab truck, possibly a Silverado.

The RCMP are assuring the public they have been investigating the similarities for a period of time, and are now looking for help. They ask anyone who may recognize the individual to contact the local RCMP detachment, police service or Crime Stoppers.
