A scheduled raw (untreated) water intake closure will be taking place on Friday.

The City of Weyburn is notifying residents that during this timeframe, the public should use water for essential requirements only.

During Friday's closure, the Water Treatment Plant will not be producing treated water and the community will be serviced by a limited quantity contained in the reservoirs.

Please avoid the following:

  • laundry
  • dishwasher usage
  • washing vehicles
  • long showers or baths
  • other non-essential activities

According to the city, this closure is necessary to conduct repairs to the pressure line between Nickle Lake and the Water Treatment Plant.

Repairs will begin Friday morning and the treatment plant will resume operations Friday afternoon.

However, the City of Weyburn asks that you conserve water until reservoir levels have been restored, which should occur late Friday evening.
