(Weyburn Mayor Debra Button has the City prepared for the National Communities in Bloom Judges)

They're here! Judges in the National Communities in Bloom Competition arrived in Weyburn last night and will hit the streets of our city today.

Weyburn Mayor Debra Button says, "we just come off a big win in the Golden Garbage Can Competition and that was just a stepping stone in my mind in taking home the Communities in Bloom coveted trophy. We've been in the competition for several years now and we've been fortunate to go to the National Competition and win those five blooms for three of four years now and I've felt for so many year, that I've been sitting in this chair, it's our time."

From Yahoo for Your Yard and the Adopt a Planter Program, the city has put together a number of initiatives over the past few years to try and sway the judges to give Weyburn the National Award.

Button says,"I think the city looks real good, considering the amount of rain we've had. The flowers are starting to come with the warm weather. In just driving around, there are so many places that have gone that extra mile. I was proud and want to thank the residents of Weyburn because it's not just a win for the Mayor and Council, it's a win for the whole city."

Weyburn is competing in the 7,500 to 10,000 population category.
