With 10 cents from every litre of fuel purchased on Tuesday at all of the Prairie Sky Coop gas bar locations in Weyburn, Lang, Milestone, and Beaubier, three charitable organizations will see a share of more than $5,000.

“We had a great day, and we beat last year's donation amount thanks to all our members who filled up on that day,” shared Kevin Arthur, General Manager with Prairie Sky Coop. “We'll be able to donate over $5,000 to the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation, Lang First Responders and Prairie Hills First Responders thanks to all the members who filled up on that day.”

“Our members recognize this is the day to to give back, and kind of saved filling up their vehicle for that day and that helped them make the day a success. People had to fill their car anyways, and by waiting and doing it on Fuel Good Day, they were able to support these great charities.”

Arthur said they'll be presenting each of the organizations with a cheque in the coming weeks.

“Watch our Facebook and Instagram accounts and you'll see the cheque presentations as they happen.”

Each year, Prairie Sky Coop makes an effort to share the funds from this event to different groups that need it the most.

“We try to support the locations in our whole trading area,” he shared.

Tuesday was a busy day at all their locations.

“We had a pancake breakfast in Milestone that brought a lot of people in and at Suds City (in east Weyburn) we had lunch specials and the hospital foundation was there giving away some swag, and they had some busy moments there. All the pumps were full for a while, so the busy day.”

“It was a great day thanks to our staff and our members and to the charities that were on site for these.”
