For the first time since 2009, the Weyburn Comprehensive School Eagles football team finished the regular season undefeated. Friday night, they secured the top spot in the SHSAA 12-man rural football league with a 30-0 win over the Peacock Tornadoes from Moose Jaw, ending the schedule with a 6-0 record.

On the ground, the Eagles picked up a total of 190 yards, led by Austin Knupp, who had 74 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. Ben Michel collected 72 yards on nine touches, while Ben Manning scored two touchdowns on three carries. Xander Shane helped out with 25 yards on five rushes, and Connor Kerr had one yard on one rush.

Manning also went 8-for-17 through the air, picking up 103 more yards.

With the win, the Eagles will now face the Yorkton Gridders at home next weekend. In the lone meeting between the two teams this season, played at the start of the season on September 11th, the Eagles won 10-9 at Darold Kot Field.

The winner of the game next weekend will then host the Saskatoon champion in the provincial semi-finals.
