The Weyburn Police Association and the Weyburn Police Commission are still at an impasse when it comes to new contract negotiations.

Weyburn Police have been without a contract since December 31 last year.

The parties have been negotiating since June of this year.

Bernie Eiswirth is the Executive Officer of the Saskatchewan Federation of Police Officers.

"There hasn't been much taking place as of late, the Board of Police Commissioners had a meeting and considered our request to go to arbitration, but they then notified us that they do not want to go to arbitration and that they want to go back to the bargaining table, that was the last e-mail I got from their spokesperson."

The Weyburn Police Commission is asking for a Constable in Weyburn to be making 93 per cent of the salary of a Constable in Regina, which is what a Police Constable in Estevan currently makes.
