The Rotary Clubs of Estevan and Weyburn are in the giving spirit, and they're encouraging community organizations to reach out if they could use assistance.

They held their annual Golf Ball Drop at the Weyburn Golf Course on Saturday, which resulted in thousands of dollars destined for charity, and thousands more going to a trio of winners.

Estevan's Ryan Olson won $5,000, while Cyrus Slater and Tammy Forcier of Weyburn won $3,000 and $1,000 respectively, both on tickets from Weyburn.

"It went really well," said Estevan Rotary Club President Terry Williams. "We're a little bit down on last year, but we're still able to give around $6,000 to each of the charities in need, which is great."

The Estevan club's portion of the money was split evenly between STARS Air Ambulance and Estevan Minor Baseball. Weyburn's portion went to STARS.

Williams thanked the public for their support and the businesses and organizations that hosted them as they sold tickets.

She said that Rotary is putting a call out to non-profits to enquire about getting help.

"We're here for you, if you need help," said Williams. "Assuming, of course, it meets the guidelines of how we can help."
