The Redvers Rockets are off to the Big Six semi-finals. They advanced with a win over the Wawota Flyers last night, skating to a 6-3 victory.

With the win, the Rockets took the best-of-five quarterfinal series 3-1.

The Flyers came out firing in the game and took the lead at the 5:05 mark when Devin Stewart got the puck past Thomas Bauche. He was assisted on the goal by Jordan Fox. The lead was then extended to 2-0 when Brady Dinwoodie scored with 10:00 left on the clock. He was assisted on the marker by Travis Dumaine and Lucas Porter.

In the second period, the Rockets, who are the defending Big Six champions, came roaring back as they launched themselves into the lead.

It started with a goal from Todd Gervais at the 7:53 mark of the middle frame, assisted by Koltyn Miller. Then, five minutes later, Brady Fidierchuk scored. Drew Hoff and Kelsey Kenler had the helpers on the goal.

The tie was broken with 2:04 remaining in the second when Remi Lamotte tallied for the Rockets. His go-ahead goal was assisted by Dakota Rose.

In the third period, Redvers extended the lead to 4-2 when Gervais scored his second of the game. Francis Lamotte and Sean Jonassen assisted on the goal.

Just over a minute later, the Flyers responded to the flurry of goals from Redvers. Wawota captain Rob West scored on the power place at the 3:10 mark of the period. He was assisted on the goal by Riley Riddell and Taylor Ernst. It would be the lone goal the Flyers could muster in the third period, though.

Kenler scored a power-play goal of his own, assisted by Fidierchuk and Justin Perreaux. The game was then put out of reach with a late goal by Remi Lamotte. Jordon Miller picked up the assist.

The Rockets will now take on the Carnduff Red Devils in the next round of the playoffs. The dates for those games have yet to be determined.

There is one quarterfinal series left to play in the Big Six. The Carlyle Cougars take on the Coalers in Bienfait. The Coalers lead the series 2-1.
