The Canadian Country Music Awards have now come and gone but a pair of major awards won't be leaving Saskatchewan.

Midale's Brad Johner took home the coveted Male Artist of the Year award last night at the Brandt Centre in Regina while Shane Yellowbird won the CMT's Rising Star Award.

Other big winners last night include Emerson Drive who took home 3 awards including Group or Duo of the Year and Single of the Year for "Moments".

The Album of the Year went to Doc Walker, and the Female Artist of the Year went to Carolyn Dawn Johnson.

The awards show was hosted by Paul Brandt.
