Over the weekend the Weyburn Public Library held their annual book sale fundraiser after not being able to hold any sales at all last year due to uncertainty with the pandemic.

"It was a great success and we're so grateful to all in the community who donated books and came out," expressed Katherine Wagner, Branch Manager for the Weyburn Public Library. "We made close to $5,000 so we're really happy. It was really busy and there were a few days where we had people waiting outside in the morning."

The money that was raised will be going towards the Library's general operating budget to support their future programs, equipment purchases, and everything else that they do on a regular basis.

"Thanks to the Weyburn Public Library board for organizing everything," Wagner said. "The board and some of our volunteers sorted through all of the books that we got, divided them by category so they were easier to browse, and there were so many books to go through so I am really grateful to them for that and also for carrying the books and setting them out."

The Library typically holds two book sale fundraisers throughout the year but were only able to hold the one this year.

Wagner added that they hope to be able to hold their next book sale in the spring of 2022 with another one in the summer/fall as well.
