Tremcar is expanding their facilities in Weyburn. The announcement came during a celebration of their 10th anniversary in the city.

The company is outfitting their facilities to be able to manufacture high-pressure propane tanks. It will be the only facility of its type of Tremcar’s in Canada, with the goal of serving western Canada with the product.

“It should generate at least 15 new jobs in the next year, year and a half,” explained Jacques Tremblay, the owner of Tremcar. “In the long term, never know, could be more than that, but actually, certainly, 15 people more.”

The space needed is already in the existing facilities Tremcar has in Weyburn. To get things rolling, all that is needed is new equipment. This week, the equipment will be purchased. The first propane tanks are expected to roll off the line in four to six months, and the product will be rolling off the line on a regular basis afterwards.

Tremblay added the work here is a key focus for the company right now.

“Here, it will be our number on the project,” Tremblay said. “We have some expansion in Ohio too, but this here is more important because this is going to be the only manufacturing site we’re going to have for pressure tanks, for propane tanks.”
