Swimmers who can't wait to swim will be happy to know the outdoor pool at the Weyburn Leisure Centre is opening up once again to the public on July 15th.

This in full compliance with the guidelines and restrictions as required by the Chief Medical Health Officer and regulated under the Government of Saskatchewan’s Re-open Saskatchewan plan.

This summer, however, will continue to look different than other years, and the pool is no exception.

A number of safety measures and supplies will be in place, including signage and following protocols for required precautions.

There will be a limit of 40 patrons at a time during public swim blocks. In fact, participants are asked to pre-book for Public Swim and Lane Swim times with the City's booking site.

No concession will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. As well, no patio chairs will be supplied, and patrons are asked to bring their own.

Those who love to climb and jump won't have the option of the Aqua Climb feature, and the water slide will be limited to the shallow side of the pool.

Much like a beach setup, the change rooms will not be open to the public to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Patrons should enter and exit the facility in their swim clothes, but washrooms will be available to the public.

That said, all swimmers must take a cleansing shower before entering the pool.

Children 12 and under will be required to have an adult present to encourage physical distancing. Five to six children can be supervised by one adult, but only two children five years old or under can be supervised by any one adult.
