The Weyburn Humane Society's annual general meeting took place on Wednesday evening at Hilltop Manor. The agenda included voting on two board positions.

"We have two executive positions. One was secretary and one was vice-president. Pat Anderson has accepted the position to remain secretary and CindyAnn Boehm has accepted the position of vice-president," said Pam Arndt-Schick, President of Weyburn Humane Society.

The Humane Society also voted on bylaw changes. The Membership Bylaw change was passed to allow for existing members to renew memberships by the AGM meeting instead of a set date earlier in January. This makes it easier for members to renew their membership at the AGM instead of earlier in the month.

The next Bylaw to be voted on was the Quorum Bylaw. The wording in the bylaw has been changed to "that the Quorum is one half of the total plus one."

"We were optimistic that we were always going to be a board of 12," said Sabrina Kraft, board member of the Weyburn Humane Society.

The change means the quorum stays in line with the number of board members instead of a set number.

The third Bylaw was approved to add the shelter manager to the executive to give freedom and responsibility to the position so they do not have to run everything by the board.

The fourth Bylaw voted on was a privacy clause, giving board members and volunteers responsibility to keep confidential communications private.

The Fifth Bylaw passed cleared up language to help the shelter manager be able to make decisions in a quick and efficient manner.

The fundraising committee was added to the bylaws as well. The chair has to be on the board but volunteers do not.

Pam Arndt Schick, Pat Anderson, Ashley Callan, Kristen Graff, Lisa Webb, Carol LaCharite, Rhiannon Benjamin, Randy Bakaluk, Sabrina Kraft, CindyAnn Boehm and Colleen Morrice were confirmed as the board of directors.
