This past Saturday the Weyburn Curling Club held their annual 18 hole Golf Tournament Fundraiser to help support the club.

While nobody actually achieved the hole-in-one challenge there were still many different prizes that were given away throughout the day.

"We had a fantastic day, the weather was great, the food was too, and everyone seemed really happy," told Patty Skjerdal, one of the volunteers at the Weyburn Curling Club. "There was a variety of prizes thanks to all of the community support that we did receive. Our event was full so that was really great to see."

As the $20,000 hole in one challenge was not met the person closest to the pin ended up winning a half-season curling membership. The winner of the longest drive for the day was Erik Nikolejsin.

The day wrapped up with a delicious supper consisting of Brisket, Macaroni and Cheese, Roasted Veggies, and Corn Bread.

It was really great to see everybody out on Saturday," Skjerdal expressed. "I think a lot of people hadn't seen each other in a long time. I just want to thank everyone involved for making the event such a big success. Everybody really seemed to have a fun day."

The total amount raised hasn't been calculated yet but the club hopes to have the number shared with the public in the coming weeks.

Skjerdal also said that they hope to have the ice back in the building this October and expressed how excited the club is to be able to return to full capacity again.
