The Pee Wee AA Young Fellow Wings opened the 2018-19 season at Crescent Point Place Tuesday night with a win. They beat the Estevan Pee Wee Bruins 4-3.

The Wings took the lead just before the halfway mark of the first period. Silas Stein the first goal of the season for Weyburn, assisted by Connor Kerr.

It wasn’t until the five-minute mark of the second period Estevan responded. Sutter Baily got the puck past Weyburn netminder Josh Wiens. The assist on the goal went to Mason Barta.

The Wings would regain the lead before the end of the period. Owen Istace scored a power-play goal with exactly 4:00 on the clock. Stein drew an assist on the goal, as did Kerr. Estevan wasn’t finished, though.

Mathias Fornwald tied the game up in the dying seconds of the period. The goal was assisted by Jayden Kuchinka and Carter Onrait.

In the third period, the Bruins took the lead for the first time in the game, as Ryker Mathison scored an unassisted goal. The Wings pushed to tie the game, and they did late in the period.

Stein scored his second goal of the game with an assist from Kerr with just over six minutes on the clock. Then, with just 64 seconds remaining in regulation, Stein closed out the hat trick with the game winning goal. Kerr notched his fourth assist of the game on the goal, while Kaden MacLean had the other assist.

The Wings are now off from league action until October 17th. They will be hosting the Moose Jaw Pee Wee Warriors at Crescent Point Place.
