Weyburn Police responded to a total of 99 calls last week, including two suspected overdoses, a fire at a business on the east side of the city, and a call of domestic abuse. 

The first suspected overdose involved an unconscious person who required Police to administer Naloxone. The person regained consciousness.  

On the second occasion EMS arrived before Police and had to administer naloxone to revive the person. Both individuals in these incidents declined further medical assistance. 

Weyburn Fire and Police were called to fire at a business on the east side of Weyburn last week. Weyburn Police assisted with traffic control in the area, and gave similar assistance to the fire department on a second call to a residence on the south side of the city. 

Also last week, Weyburn Police received a report of domestic assault. Both police and EMS responded to the call, which resulted in the victim being transported to Weyburn General Hospital for assessment.  

The suspect was located, arrested and charged with assault.  They were released from Police custody with no contact conditions and a future court date. 

Weyburn police laid 3 charges under the Criminal Code of Canada, 6 under the Traffic Safety Act, and 3 under the Summary Offences Procedure Act last week.
