The Weyburn Police Service is investigating a number of reports of vandalism to vehicles which were reported over the past week.

The first incident was reported last Monday. A vehicle was scratched up while parked on the 400-block of Woodlawn Crescent. This was followed up by two separate reports on Saturday.

The first report on Saturday was of a vehicle parked on the 200-block of 2nd Street NE being egged. The second report was of a vehicle parked on the 1800 block of Coteau Avenue having a tire slashed.

“They pop up every week it seems,” said Deputy Chief Rod Stafford. “We’ve been so far unable to make any headway on connecting whether any of them are related or not.”

A number of cases of vehicles have been reported in Weyburn over the course of the summer. Stafford said even with the most recent reports, aside from the nature of the crime, there appears to be no connection between the incidents.

The WPS is asking anyone with information to contact them or to get in touch with Crime Stoppers.
