(Wings forward Brock Appleyard)

The Weyburn Red Wings are in Kindersley tonight to open their Sherwood semi-final series against the Klippers. The Wings finished 3rd in the Sherwood and the Klippers were 2nd.

Wings forward Brock Appleyard says it was nice to know through the break who their opponent would be. He says, "definitely helps knowing who your playing. Last year that was to our disadvantage, we tried to prepare for two teams instead of just one. So right now we get to prepare for just one and we seen six times this year so it really helps."

The wings were 3-3 against the Klippers in the regular season . Pre-game show tonight is at 7:20 on Red Wing Radio AM 1190.

Game 2 will be tomorrow. Games 3 and 4 will be in Weyburn on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Meanwhile the SJHL has announced it's year-end award winners. Weyburn Red Wing Tanner McCall won the RBC junior A scholarship.
