The Weyburn Riding & Driving Club held their annual Winter Wonderland fundraiser this past weekend and it was a huge success!! (VIDEO below)

There were horses, sleigh rides, photos with Santa Claus, hot chocolate, chili on a bun, hot dogs,  desserts, a nice fire to warm up next to... and lots more!

After expenses the fundraiser brought in just over $1400 for the club and they also collected several pounds of food for the Weyburn Salvation Army!

"We want to thank the community of Weyburn for all their support and generosity," stated Mason Richaud, one of the event organizers and a member of the Weyburn Riding and Driving Club.

"Without you events like winter wonderland simply could not be done. We have lots of things to deal with out at the barns that require major expenses. The tin siding that we are putting in the barns are proving to be much more of a challenge than anyone originally thought. Our tractor has reached a point it costs the club more to operate it in a year than what it is worth and so we need to upgrade that. We have a ten acre pasture for the horses to run and graze in the summer time, however it needs a fence around it. We have very little yard lights out there and the ones that are there are not the most efficient which makes night chores difficult, especially in the winter. We have had to prioritize what is more important to be addressed first and deal with all of these projects that need to get done as soon as possible to ensure the longevity of the club, however they also come at a major cost. We need the community of Weyburn’s help through things like our fundraising. Weyburn has always been a strong supporter of the community and we just want to thank them for supporting us. We can’t ever say that enough."
