It started in 2007 when two boys, Travis Price and David Shephard, took a stand against bullying in their school.

A decade later, it's an anti-bullying, respect awareness movement that has celebrated world-wide success.

The Red Cross Day of Pink is Wednesday, February 22 this year. With school being out this week, the Elementary Schools in Weyburn participated in the Day of Pink last week. All celebrated with "Kindness Week" which promoted kindness both in school and the community.

The Haig School R.A.K (Random Acts of Kindness) Pack did daily announcements with a different kindness theme. As well, Kindness Tickets were handed out to students who were caught performing acts of kindness, with several prizes pulled at the end of the week. The other schools also partook in the ticket system and two kids from each elementary school got to perform with Hoja on stage at the Cugnet Centre when they were in town on Friday.

Souris School's Grade 5 class surprised the Weyburn Fire Department with goodies on Valentine's day and the Grade 2's at Haig learned the song "Good Friends".

St. Michael's school was treated to their own performance by Hoja earlier in the day and we have video from both, and all the other activities at the schools, in the video below.
