With the advance polls having been held recently, today is the official day the City of Weyburn will hold the by-election for the vacant seat on Weyburn City Council.

Polls will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. today, May 31st, at the Weyburn Credit Union Spark Centre.

"You have to have lived in Weyburn for three consecutive months, up to and including Election Day of May 31st," explained Returning Officer Donette Richter. "You must have lived in Saskatchewan for six months, up to and including Election Day, and of course, be a Canadian citizen and have on Election Day not have voted already at the Advance poll."

She said pre-registration is not required.

"Just come out to the polls and we will get you taken care of and get you a ballot as long as you bring a picture ID or two pieces of ID, as required by the Election Act."
