Southeast Regional Victim Services is looking for volunteers to help out.

They are currently seeking volunteers for the Fillmore, Carlyle and Estevan areas.

Tara Busch is the coordinator for SE Regional Victim Services. She explained the volunteers are needed to help outside of the regular hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

“The volunteers would take those callouts on evenings and weekends,” Busch explained.

Victim Services helps those who are the victims of a crime. They attend to scenes with officers, and the locations depend on where the victim is located. The types of cases they help out on can range from a common assault to a domestic situation, or any other number of personal crimes.

Volunteers do need to be at least 18 years old, with no criminal record and able to pass an RCMP Security Clearance. They also need access to a vehicle, good communication and interpersonal skills, a desire to help people, especially during a traumatic experience, and be able to work flexible hours.
