Santa took the lead as about 40 bikers took part in the Weyburn Independent Riders annual toy run this weekend. Around 200 toys were collected and donated to the Weyburn Salvation Army for their Christmas campaign.

Organizer Gord Hemphill says over the last few years they've managed to collect even more toys by going into stores before the event and asking the community for donations.

"Since we started going and collecting at stores we've gotten probably ten times more toys," shared Hemphill.

The next ride for the Weyburn Independent Riders is Pipes for Pets on September 23 in Qu'Appelle Valley, which will support the Weyburn Humane Society. Pledge sheets are available at Terry's Yamaha or by contacting Contessa Hill at 306-861-2802.
