The U18 AA John Hulbert Construction Wings were on the road Saturday, taking on the U18 AA Swift Current Broncos. The Wings would take the lead early in the game, and hold on for a 6-4 victory. 

Ryker Watt opened the scoring in the first period with a short-handed goal just 8:41 into the period. He was assisted on the tally by Cooper Walbaum. The Broncos would reply with a goal of their own, as Kaleb McBurney scored on the power play with 8:23 left on the clock in the first. Weyburn regained the lead before the end of the period, though, as Walbaum scored with24 seconds remaining, assisted by Watt and Lane Batters.  

In the second, the Broncos would tie the game up again, as Garrett Kurtz scored 3:38 into the frame. Less than two minutes later, the Wings responded with Walbaum's second goal of the game, on the power play. Noah Kopec and Silas Stein had the helpers on the tally. 

Kurtz would score again, this time on a penalty shot with 10:10 left on the clock in the second, to even the game up at 3-3. The tie wouldn’t last for too long, though. Andon Hoff would reply for Weyburn with 7:19 remaining, making it a 4-3 game. 

Early in the third period, Watt would score his second of the match-up, giving Weyburn a 5-3 lead. His goal at the 1:48 mark was assisted by Kopec and Walbaum. Then, Hoff would add to the lead with 4:39 to play in the game. His power play marker was assisted by Grier Peterson.  

Swift Current would score once more, as Krutz finished off the hat trick with 10 seconds remaining.  

Adam Charlton got the win in goal for the Wings, turning aside 38 of the 42 shots he faced. 

The two teams will finish up the weekend set Sunday afternoon in Swift Current.
