The U15AA Annugas Wings embarked on a three-game road trip this weekend, and it started Friday night in Warman against the Wildcats. Four goals in the third period would help the Wings to a 7-4 victory to start off their trip

Weyburn opened up the scoring late in the first period when Evan Guest scored on the power play with 3:34 to go in the frame. He was assisted on the tally by Morgan Lacoste. Then, just 55 seconds later, another power play goal for Weyburn, this time from Langston Gold, made it 2-0. Gold’s goal was assisted by Justin Whitrow and Lacoste.

In the second period, the Wings opened it up to a 3-0 lead as Ryder Gilroy wasted little time after the start of the frame to find the back of the net. Assisted by Aidan Mohan and Brennan Brown, the goal came 1:27 into the period.

The Wildcats would reply in the second half of the period with a power play goal of their own. The marker from Mason Obrigewitch with 9:37 on the clock made it 3-1 after 40 minutes of play.

In the third period, the two teams would combine for seven goals.

Weyburn started things off when Reid Fraser scored at the 5:38 mark, assisted by Mohan. Then, Whitrow would score at the 7:48 mark, assisted by Gold, to make it 5-1 for the Wings.

The Wildcats responded with a power play goal with 10:36 on the clock as Jaxon Herchak got the puck past Nicolas Forsyth.

The Wings would restore the four-goal lead with 8:29 to play as Whitrow scored his second of the game, unassisted, on the power play. It would only take 15 seconds, though, for the Wildcats to get the goal back as Waylon Gardipy scored.

In the final moments of the game, a goal from Lane Keyowski, on the power play, made it 6-4 as the Wildcats closed the gap. A late goal from Guest, though, would round out the scoring and give the Wings the 7-4 victory.

The trip for the U15 AA Wings continues today as they take on the Saskatoon Bandits. They close things out tomorrow afternoon against the Martensville Marauders.
