Trick-or-treaters shouldn't have to worry about rain or snow, but they'll want to bundle up with temperatures across southern Saskatchewan projected to be cooler than usual for the end of October.

Temperatures were generally higher than normal across southern Saskatchewan yesterday. considerably higher than normal in southeastern Saskatchewan Friday. A high of 18.5 C was reached in Estevan, compared to the average high, according to Environment Canada, for the day of 7.6 C.

But a low-pressure system made its way over the southern part of the province Friday night. Below-normal temperatures are expected to remain for a few days.

"We're going to be right around that zero-degree mark through the first part of next week until temperatures rebound by mid-week to get back up to near normal, which should be about plus six for this time of year," said Environment Canada Meteorologist Justin Shelley.

A high of 2 C is forecast for Weyburn Sunday, with the temperature expected to drop to a low of -8 C overnight.

"It should be relatively dry overall," said Shelley. "Probably a bit cooler than we've been experiencing the last month or so really, and a bit of gusting northwesterly winds of about maybe 20, gusting 40 in through the evening hours. In those evening hours, we expect temperatures to be right around that zero-degree mark."
