Southeast Saskatchewan, right through to the Manitoba border, could be in for a wild ride this afternoon.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected for much of the day in the region. Later his afternoon, the threat of severe thunderstorms will begin to emerge with a low-pressure system tracking across the province.

Large hail, upwards of 5 centimetres in diameter, and wind gusts up to 100 kilometres an hour will be the main threats, along with lightning. While rain is expected, it isn’t anticipated to have as much of an impact as the storm on June 1st.

Tornadoes in the region could be possible as well, in particular between Weyburn and Moosomin, and across to Manitoba and south to the North Dakota border.

We will keep you up to date as the storm develops.
