A state memorial service is planned to recognize and honour the contributions to the province made by the Honourable W. Thomas Molloy.

Molloy was Saskatchewan's 22nd Lieutenant Governor and made a wide range of contributions in his career, but mainly focused on Aboriginal issues in the province and across Canada. He was the chief negotiator that led to the creation of Nunavut in 1999. He was named to the Order of Canada in 1996 and the Saskatchewan Order of Merit in 2012.

The service will be held in Saskatoon on Saturday, July 13 at Merlis Belsher Place. Doors will open at 12:15, with the service scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Condolences can be left at the Legislative Building in Regina or online

The Hon. W. Thomas Molloy was sworn in as the Lieutenant Governor in March of last year, before his passing on July 2 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
