If the new Provincial Health Authority offices are located outside of Regina or Saskatoon, it looks like Moose Jaw and Prince Albert will be duking it out.

Prince Albert has announced they would be the best location for the new authority this fall because they are centrally located to serve the entire province.  Their mayor says they have empty office space downtown that would be perfect.

We've told you recently that Moose Jaw Mayor Fraser Tolmie has been lobbying the province for the health authority to be located in Moose Jaw, arguing that the province has pulled hundreds of jobs from our community in recent years, for example, the closure of Valley View.  Not to forget, the Moose Jaw is centrally located between Saskatoon and Regina.

The Ministry of Health has responded to our request for comment with an email that says "Planning is underway to transition the 12 existing Regional Health Authorities (RHAs) into a single Provincial Health Authority by fall 2017.  At this time no decision has been made on the potential location of a head office.

It is important to note that administration will not all be centralized in one location when the new Provincial Health Authority is created."
