A power outage affecting the northwest part of Weyburn is likely due to the wet and snowy weather.

The power went out for part of the city and some of the surrounding areas at 11 a.m. SaskPower spokesperson Joel Cherry said the the outage was caused by downed trees in the area affecting power lines likely caused by the heavy, wet snow that fell frm 8 a.m. to around noon. He said SaskPower is working to clear the lines and expects power to be restored around 1 p.m.

Crews are working to repair damage caused by downed power poles in the Assiniboia, Lafleche, and Wood Mountain areas as well but currently have no estimated time of restoration. Those areas have been without power since about 11:30 a.m.
