The Weyburn Police Service released this image via social media Sunday evening. (photo courtesy Weyburn Police Service/facebook.com)An image has been released by the Weyburn Police Service, as they continue to investigate an armed robbery at the Wholesale Gas Bar last weekend.

The photo shows what police say are two men by the gas bar. The photo is coming from a nearby business’ surveillance system. There have been no photos released from inside the business which was robbed.

One of the suspects is described as a Caucasian man, standing between 5’2” and 5’5” with a medium build. They were said to have been wearing a light grey hoodie, dark sunglasses and had his face covered. The second suspect is said to be a man standing between 5’2” and 5’5”, a medium build as well, and wearing a black hoodie at the time.

Police say it appeared a handgun was brandished during the robbery. A small amount of cash was taken, and the suspects fled on foot.

"It's not impossible, but it would be very odd and extremely rare that somebody would have legitimate ownership of that weapon and then turn around and use it in an armed robbery," said Weyburn Police Service Deputy Chief Rod Stafford. "It would be very, very odd for the legal owner of the handgun to be the one that's involved in the robbery if, in fact, it is a real firearm in the first place."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
