Today is an historic day for Estevan as Prime Minister Stephen Harper visits the Energy City to tour the Boundary Dam Power Station, followed by a formal announcement this afternoon at the Woodlawn Golf Club.

The visit comes after the Federal Government commited two-hundred and forty million dollars in its budget for Saskatchewan to put towards a clean coal, carbon capture demonstration project.

The price tag for the seven-year project is 1.4 billion dollars, with the province putting in 758 million dollars and private industry being counted on for the rest.

Estevan Mayor Gary St. Onge it's not often you get the Prime Minister come to our neck of the woods so it's a big deal.
