It's that time of year again, when women refuse to kiss their spouses for a good reason. Movember has arrived.

Committed to changing the face of men's health, the month-long initiative aims to generate conversations about men's health and find breakthrough solutions to produce tangible improvements in the lives of those dealing with prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.

It started in 2003 in Australia to raise awareness for men's cancers and has now spread across 21 countries, raising over $574 million and funding over 800 programs. The initiative has raise nearly $152 million in Canada since 2007, helping to fund 200 programs.

Men, known as "Mo Bros", sign up online and donate their face in the month of November, growing and grooming the best moustaches they can muster, raising funds and awareness along the way.

One local "Mo Bro", Craig Douglas Davies, is partaking in his fourth Movember.

"Before I was just doing it for awareness," said Davies. "This year I'm taking donations at my business (Jiffy Lube)."

He added that there is another benefit to the event.

"My wife hates when I try to grow a moustache and always makes me shave it off, so November is the only time I'm allowed to let it grow."
