Weyburn had a rare opportunity to view a partial eclipse and people all over the city were excited about the event. For those who were able to view the eclipse using proper eyewear or homemade devices were in for a treat.

"It actually covered a little more than I thought it was going to," says Karen Kennedy-Allin, Physics teacher at the Weyburn Comp who runs the Astronomy Club viewed from her backyard. "What was surprising is how we don't even notice down on the ground, there was no dimness, it just tells you how bright the sun is normally that even though only 20 percent of it is showing it's still totally bright down on the ground."

Karen had purchased the proper eyewear for eclipse viewing back in 2014 when Weyburn saw its last partial eclipse.

"It was really exciting to see this," says Donna Klein, who also viewed the eclipse in Karen's backyard. "I want to thank my friend Karen Kennedy-Allin for supplying us with the glasses so we could check it out."

"It was really cool cause you could just see the sun, it was neat," says Sela Flavel, a youth who also viewed the eclipse.
