The Second Annual Trossachs Times Car Show and Family Day is happening Saturday, August 12. Due to last year’s success, the event is expanding which will include a steak supper and street dance with entertainment provided by Kelly J Gill and the Hired Guns.

“This year we decided to go bigger with the goal in mind to fundraise enough money to be able to make our community hall wheelchair accessible, which entails building ramp outside, and new stairs out front as well as purchasing and installing a stair lift for access to the basement,” said Secretary and Media Marketer, Daphne Cheguis for Brokenshell Parks and Recreation.

There will be many events for the whole family to enjoy including face painting, tye dying, bouncy houses, rock painting, sprinkler with a slip n' slide, a BBQ lunch which will include hot dogs and hamburgers as well as a car show and market.

“There is a car show from 11:00 to 4:00, with four possible categories to win, Best in Show, Best in Classics, Best Truck, and Best Paint/Interior. We will also be holding a market and all vendors are welcome and we already have quite a variety signed up.”

Some of the vendors include crafts, woodworking, sewing, baking, and a presentation from Saskatchewan Waste Reduction.

Heading into the evening a steak supper will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 and the street dance will kick off at 7 pm and run until 11 pm. Entrance into the street dance is a non-perishable food product that will go to supporting the Weyburn Food Bank. A safe ride home will be provided for FREE of charge by South Country Equipment.

To register for the car show or for the market you can call Daphne Cheguis at (306)897-7422, fees are $10 for each event.
